Computer Scientist / Software Analyst

The ASTA Group is looking to hire a Computer Scientist / Software Analyst.  As a computer scientist / software analyst, you will assist with the development and review of information technology system plans, provide analysis, make suggestions on hardware and software requirements, among other duties. This is NOT a remote/telecommute position. You will work on-site specific days of the week and also from home until the COVID restrictions are lifted, and then you will be required to work on-site in Pensacola, FL

Applicants must possess a security clearance or be within the 2-year reactivation activation if current clearance is expired.  

Job Responsibilities

  •  Assist with development and review of Information Technology system plans and provide analysis of existing and future software applications to improve/enhance the Navy Training experience using programs/applications like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), or other future applications and/or product
  • Review Ready Relevant Learning (RRL) hardware and software requirements and make suggestions to improve performance, portability, and security
  •  Analyze simulation and courseware code to determine ability to reuse content and to provide a summary of content that would need to be redeveloped
  • Provide expertise in computers and software as an input to Instructional Design reviews and considerations.
  • Provide inputs for required learning site hardware/software required to support running simulations and courseware
  • Provide expertise in Product and Program management within an R&D capacity
  • Communicate technical information, findings, recommendation, verbally and in writing, to upper-level managers.
  • Must work well in a team environment as well as be self-motivated and work independently.
  • Experience with Security Development Operations desired

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Computer Science or related degree required
  • Experience with Security Development Operations desired
  •  Experience in Navy or military Training Development highly desired
  • Security Clearance: You must have an active security clearance, or if your clearance has expired, you must be within the 2 year reactivation period. If you have had a clearance for previous military or DoD related positions and you meet the required job skills, please apply and your clearance status will be verified. Compensation and Benefits

Annual Salary: $74,000.00 to $78,000.00
