ASTA CEO ACCEPTS PRESIDENTIAL CITATION AT IMSH

Dr. Linda Brent, ASTA CEO, facilitates the National Training and Simulation Association (NTSA) Working Group on Patient Safety. As a part of her efforts, she, along with RADM Jim Robb, President of NTSA, was awarded the Presidential Citation by Dr. Haru Okuda, current President of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) conference.

IMSH 2023 took place January 21-25 and is sponsored by the SSH. This scientific conference explores innovation and best practices in healthcare simulation.  NTSA and SSH have strategically partnered over the years, with SSH leadership participating in NTSA’s working group to improve patient safety. The Working Group is comprised of leadership across industry, academia, and Government agencies and focuses on the application of simulation to both increase performance and minimize error for patients.

This prestigious award was presented in recognition of the work the Patient Safety Working Group continues to strive for and the commitment and collaboration that occurs year-round. The NTSA Patient Safety Working Group also works closely with the Modeling and Simulation Congressional Caucus, working to encourage legislation to improve access to training and simulation, with a particular emphasis on rural and underserved regions in the nation.
